Terms and Conditions

The below Terms and Conditions are for the reference of previous students only. For the current Terms and Conditions, please refer to your agreement in the My Piano Focus platform.

Thank you for joining us at Piano Focus. When purchasing a monthly subscription, gift package or one-off session, you are indicating your agreement to the terms and conditions below.

Subscriptions

Each subscription type is valid for the following online sessions and/or session transfers.

All subscription sessions, including sessions transferred from prior months, require an active subscription on the date of the session.

• Piano Focus monthly subscription (Previous subscribers only)

Valid for weekly online piano lessons of 50 minutes each, up to a maximum of 44 sessions per subscription year.

Sessions will be added to your account in the following repeating pattern:
Month 1: 4 sessions added to account
Month 2: 4 sessions added to account
Month 3: 3 sessions added to account

Unused sessions will rollover until the end of your subscription year, provided that you hold a valid active or paused subscription. At the start of each new subscription year, your sessions will reset to zero. You may view your unused sessions at any time via the scheduling platform.

• Basic Chill monthly subscription (Previous subscribers only)

Valid for 2 online sessions of 50 minutes each, to be scheduled and used within your subscription month.

• Classic Chill monthly subscription (Previous subscribers only)

Valid for 4 online sessions of 50 minutes each, to be scheduled and used within your subscription month. In addition, up to 1 session may be transferred to the following subscription month for use within that month.

“Your subscription month” begins on your payment date each month. For example, if your first subscription payment were made on 3 January 2024, your subscription month would run from the 3rd of each month to the 2nd of the following month.

“Your subscription year” begins on your first payment date and ends on the day before this in the following year. For example, if your first subscription payment were made on 3 January 2024, your subscription year would run from this date until 2 January 2025.

One-Off Sessions (Previous purchases only)

Valid for one 50-minute online piano lesson, to be scheduled at the time of payment.

Gift Packages (Previous purchases only)

Each gift package is valid for the number of online sessions stated on your order receipt. All sessions are 50 minutes in length. You may view your unused sessions at any time via the scheduling platform.

Requirements for Students Aged 16-17 Years

Subscriptions: A parent or guardian must sign up for the subscription and attend a short meeting before the student’s first session.

Gift Packages: The purchaser must advise upon booking and provide a parent or guardian name and email address.

One-Off Sessions: This option is available for adults aged 18 and up only.

Subscription, Gift Package and One-Off Session Inclusions

All subscriptions, gift packages and one-off sessions include access to the sheet music used in your sessions, and written feedback on material covered in your sessions.

Subscriptions, gift packages and one-off sessions do not include access to sheet music that is not used in your sessions, nor feedback on material not covered in your sessions.

Rescheduling Sessions – By You

Subscription and gift package sessions may be rescheduled up until 4 hours before your session start time via the online scheduling system.

One-off sessions may be rescheduled up until 12 hours before your session start time via the online scheduling system.

After this time, you may cancel your session via email but it will not be available for re-booking or rollover.

Rescheduling Sessions – By Us

Where an unforeseen situation arises, it may be necessary for us to reschedule your session. We will provide you with as much notice as possible under the circumstances.

If this occurs, you will have the opportunity to select a new time for the session at your convenience.

Pausing of Subscriptions

Your subscription may be paused for one month by sending written notice via email. Please allow 72 hours before your monthly renewal date to ensure that we have the opportunity to process your pause request prior to payment.

Any sessions remaining on your account at the time of the pause will be retained for you to use upon your return.

During the pause, you will continue to have access to all learning materials. Session bookings and individual feedback will not be available.

Following the pause, your subscription will resume with payment taken on your monthly renewal date.

A pause is available twice every subscription year (up to two months total). Provided that all conditions are followed, you will remain on your original monthly payment rate.

Cancellation of Subscriptions

Your subscription may be cancelled at any time by sending written notice via email. Please allow 72 hours before your monthly renewal date to ensure that we have the opportunity to process your cancellation prior to payment.

Upon subscription cancellation, you will have until the end of your current subscription month to use your sessions. Following this time, any remaining sessions and/or session transfers will become invalid.

Refunds for Subscriptions, Gift Packages and One-Off Sessions

Subscription, gift package and one-off session payments are not refundable for change of mind.

No pro-rata refund will be made for cancelled subscriptions.

Use of Materials

All materials provided are for your personal use only and are not to be used for commercial purposes. Such materials include (but are not limited to) sheet music, audio files and written documents.

Expectations of Conduct

At Piano Focus, we are committed to a culture of mutual respect at all times.

Disrespectful conduct of an intentional nature is not acceptable. Where such conduct occurs, we reserve the right to cancel current and/or future sessions.

Health Disclaimer

Playing the piano involves risks and any individual may respond differently - be this physically, psychologically or otherwise.

If you have any relevant health conditions, injuries or other limitations, it is very important to inform your teacher and consult with a healthcare professional before participating in lessons with Piano Focus.

If you feel discomfort, pain or have any other concerns whatsoever during a lesson, please stop playing immediately and inform your teacher.

The information provided at our piano lessons is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified healthcare professional with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

By participating in piano lessons, you acknowledge that you are doing so voluntarily and at your own risk, and hereby release Piano Focus and Lauren Carey Kevin from any and all liabilities arising from your participation.
